Gloria Ruth Anguish Evans was born in Midland, Texas on Nov. 12, 1933. She passed away peacefully in her home on January 4, 2018 at the age of 84 after a lengthy fight against Alzheimer's. Gloria graduated from Midland High School in 1951, after which she attended Austin College in Sherman, TX where she studied business and office management. In 1953 she married Billy J. Evans also of Midland and they began a 50 year journey of their lives together. As a young military couple, they lived in Denver, Colorado , and Hokkaido Misawa, Japan....

Gloria Ruth Anguish Evans was born in Midland, Texas on Nov. 12, 1933. She passed away peacefully in her home on January 4, 2018 at the age of 84 after a lengthy fight against Alzheimer's. Gloria graduated from Midland High School in 1951, after which she attended Austin College in Sherman, TX where she studied business and office management. In 1953 she married Billy J. Evans also of Midland and they began a 50 year journey of their lives together. As a young military couple, they lived in Denver, Colorado , and Hokkaido Misawa, Japan. After his service, they lived in Ft. Stockton, Texas and Sells, Arizona before settling back in Midland in 1958 where she lived the remainder of her days.
Gloria's life was filled with her love of family. She and Billy raised the family farming and ranching, with Gloria handling bookkeeping, working at the livestock auction and running the household. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church until it closed in 2013, where she was active in teaching Sunday School, leading Youth groups, Christmas in April, singing in the Choir and as a Shepherd to other members. Her other interests included entertaining and enjoying her numerous grandchildren, supporting various charities, being outdoors and generally loving her fellow man.
Gloria is survived by 5 children - Scott Evans and wife Kim of Toyahvale, Texas, Elaine Shock and husband Billy of Knott, Texas, Paul Evans and wife Pam of Stanton, Texas, Dusty Evans and wife Sandra of Midland, Texas, Lori Evans Lucas and husband J.C. of Rogers, Arizona , and her honorary daughter Jennie McFann and husband Marc of Fayetteville, AR, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Gloria's family also includes her caregivers who loved and cared for her like family: Alicia Aranda, Irma Chabarria, Jamie Tenorio, Jennifer Tenorio, Jazmin Shotts and Vera Cooks.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Ernest W. "Walter" and Ruth Anguish, her brothers Ernest W. "Buddy" Anguish, Jr. and David Anguish, her husband Billy J. Evans, son Alan Lane Evans, and infant twin daughters Sharon and Suzanne Evans.
A memorial service honoring Gloria Evans and celebrating her life will be held Weds. Jan 10th @ 10:00 am at Ellis Funeral Home, 801 Andrews Hwy. Midland, Texas.
