Louis Reyes Sanchez, 64, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012. He was born on September 16, 1947 to Mr. Jose R. and Emilia R. Sanchez. Louis was a native Midlander. He served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star while in the service. He was also member of the American Legion. After his time in the military, Louis worked as a contract painter for over 20 years. He was a very hardworking man, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Louis Reyes Sanchez, 64, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012. He was born on September 16, 1947 to Mr. Jose R. and Emilia R. Sanchez. Louis was a native Midlander. He served in the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star while in the service. He was also member of the American Legion. After his time in the military, Louis worked as a contract painter for over 20 years. He was a very hardworking man, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Louis is preceded in death by both of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jose Sanchez and his beloved son, Louis "Tito" Sanchez, Jr.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters and their spouses, Mr. and Mrs. Franco and Mary Ann Lopez, Ricky and Claudia Reyes, Mr. and Mrs. Johnny and Maribel Torres, Mr. and Mrs. Rafael and Sophia Sanchez-Garza all of Midland, Texas; his brother, Arturo Sanchez; his sisters, Adela Reyes, Alicia S. Rangel, Maria Elena S. Hernandez, Patricia S. Costilla, Cecilia Chaves, Viviana Rodriguez; and his great uncle, Jose Reyes. Louis is also survived by his grandchildren: Gilbert S. Villa Jr., Sabrina M. Villa, Veenus D. Lopez, Christopher Reyes, Destinee Natividad, Brianna Sifuentes, Crus Sifuentes, Santana Sifuentes, Vicente S. Hernandez, Lidia S. Hernandez, Matteo G. Torres, Jr Garza, Yasmine Garza, Thomas S. Hall, Ajiana Garza, Deziree Garza, Esperanza D. Garza, Xavier R. Garza; four great-grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will welcome friends for visitation on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Ellis Funeral Home from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. A rosary will immediately follow the visitation, starting at 4:00pm on Sunday, February 12, 2012. A funeral mass is planned for Monday, February 13, 2012 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (1401 Garden Lane). Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
