Ruby Lee Kathryn Sandefer Pugh, 86 of Midland, Texas passed away on March 30, 2015.

Ruby was born in Paducah, Texas, on April 29, 1928 to Walter Lee and Evelyn Viola Hall. She graduated from Morton High School. Ruby was married to Ralph Bee Pugh on January 25, 1947; they were married for 59 years until he passed away in 2006.

Ruby was a full-time homemaker for 18 years before going to work outside the home, and then worked a total of 18 years for Gold Bond Stamp Store, Solo Serve Shoestore, Cloth...

Ruby Lee Kathryn Sandefer Pugh, 86 of Midland, Texas passed away on March 30, 2015.

Ruby was born in Paducah, Texas, on April 29, 1928 to Walter Lee and Evelyn Viola Hall. She graduated from Morton High School. Ruby was married to Ralph Bee Pugh on January 25, 1947; they were married for 59 years until he passed away in 2006.

Ruby was a full-time homemaker for 18 years before going to work outside the home, and then worked a total of 18 years for Gold Bond Stamp Store, Solo Serve Shoestore, Cloth World, Penney's, and Thurmond McGlothlin, retiring in 1983. She then cared for children in her home for several years, and worked in the nursery at Christian Life Center. She was baptized as a young woman at Terminal Baptist Church, and is a member of Harvester's Class at Kelview Heights Baptist Church.

Ruby was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Pugh; her parents, son Ronald Pugh in 1949 and daughter Sandra Pugh Wilson in 1996, as well as brothers Walter, Bryant, Leroy, Stanley, Kenny and Roger Sandefer, and sisters Helen Bunn and Verniece Stevens.

Ruby is survived by daughter Nancy Oldham and husband Lonnie of Midland; and sons Mervin and wife Daphne of Odessa, and Tracy of Midland. She was proud of grandsons Clayton Oldham, Ricky Pugh and wife Lauren, granddaughters Rachella James, Hilary Pyott and husband Kevin, Jennifer Bartlett, and Kayla Notley and husband Nathan. Ruby also had seven great grandchildren, Tiffany and Macy James, Colton and Cayson Oldham, Aubrey and Brennen Bartlett and Lincoln Notley. She is also survived by sisters Rose Nichols of Enochs and Pat McKinney of Amarillo, sisters-in-law Nelda Sandefer of Midland, Jean Sandefer of Montana, and Darlis Sandefer of Edgewood, New Mexico.

Ruby was a nurturer to many, an excellent cook who shared her bounty with others, especially known for her Amish bread. She was an influence in many lives. She loved Country Music and concerts, especially Conway and Charley. Ruby has been going to the Senior Citizens Center every day for lunch since 2007. She was known as the "Riddle Lady" and also for her love of chicken foot and other games.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Ellis Funeral Chapel, followed by the service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Franklin of Kelview Heights Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be nephews Bobby Blair, Jim Chancellor, Jerry Nichols, Barry Sandefer, Duane Sandefer and Monte Sandefer.
